Collinsville claims round robin softball wins over Westbrook, Appalachian

COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville Lady Panthers improved to 19-16 on the softball season with a pair of wins Saturday in their own round robin tournament. They defeated Westbrook Christian 9-6 and rallied past Appalachian 8-7.

In the win over Westbrook, Lexii Burt went 2-for-3 with a double, three runs, and a RBI. Aubrey Reeves collected a double, a walk, two runs, and a RBI. Halle Peek tripled, walked, and scored a run. Jemma Smith added a hit, a walk, a run, and a RBI. Ella Coker contributed a hit.

Gabriella Whitmore walked, scored a run, and had two RBIs. Maelee Barkley walked, scored a run, and had a RBI.

Bella Wills worked three innings in the circle and allowed three earned runs on five hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Barkley tossed an inning of no-hit ball with a strikeout.

In the win over Appalachian, Collinsville was down 5-0 before rallying for six runs in the top of the fourth and two more in the top of the fifth for the final.

Wills homered and drove in four runs. Burt was 2-for-3 with a triple and a RBI. Barkley and Reeves both went 2-for-4 with a run. Barkley doubled twice and Reeves doubled once. Reeves also had a RBI. Peek went 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, and two runs. Coker doubled, walked, scored two runs, and had a RBI. Carlee Davis contributed a hit and a RBI. Whitmore had a hit and scored a run.

Jemma Smith worked two innings in the circle and allowed four earned runs on seven hits with no walks and three strikeouts. Brayleigh Smith tossed three innings and allowed an earned run on four hits with a walk and a strikeout.

Collinsville hosts Spring Garden on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
