Mr. Rickey Don Vaughn, age 67 of Centre, passed away on April 13, 2026, at Cherokee County Health and Rehab Center. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shane Swafford officiating. Burial will follow at Union Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Rickey loved the Lord with all of his heart. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and talking about his girlfriend, Kathy. He was an avid Alabama Football fan. Roll Tide!
He is survived by his brothers, Reuben (Judy) Vaughn of Piedmont, AL and Gerald Vaughn of Scottsboro, AL; sisters, Marie Carroll and Syble Jones of Douglas, AL, and Leisa (David) Sparkman of Centre, AL; special friend (girlfriend) Kathy Hallmark; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Ethel Vaughn; sisters, Shirley Floyd, Mary Graves, Helen Vaughn, and Doris Barkley; and brothers, Wendell, James, and Steve Vaughn
Pallbearers will be Brad Gaddison, Koley Windsor, Dylan Vaughn, Malcolm Vaughn, Rodney Windsor, and Marshall Manley.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cherokee County Health and Rehab staff, Diane Ingram, Linda Kent, Sherrydan Garret and Cassidy Lozy for all the care you gave Rickey while he was with you.
