Sand Rock softball team earns tournament wins over Fayetteville, Reeltown

OXFORD – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats won a pair of softball games in the Tiger Classic tournament at Oxford Lake on Friday. They defeated Fayetteville 3-1 and Reeltown 12-7.

In the win over Fayetteville, Emma Sipsy led the Lady Wildcats (18-11) at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a run. Alyvia McMichen doubled and drove in two runs.

Raven Todd tallied a hit and a RBI. Amelia Ford had a hit and a run. Molly Grace Lay and Taylyn Warren both finished with a hit. Macy Martin walked.

Sipsy worked four innings in the circle. She allowed one earned run on three hits with a walk and no strikeouts. Martin tossed an inning and allowed a hit.

Against Reeltown, Sipsy went 3-for-3 with a double, two runs, and two RBIs. McMichen was also 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Aubie Camp contributed a pair of hits and three runs.

Lay had a hit and scored two runs. Martin managed a hit and two RBIs. Warren collected a hit, a walk, a run, and a RBI. Kinzlee Peek finished with a hit and a run.

Martin and Sipsy both tossed two innings. Martin allowed an earned run on two hits with no walks and four strikeouts. Sipsy also allowed an earned run on two hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

Tournament play continues on Saturday.
