Cherokee County E911 Honors Veteran Dispatcher Darrell Baker During Telecommunicators Week

CENTRE — Cherokee County E911 and the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency are recognizing local 911 dispatchers during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, highlighting the critical role dispatchers play in public safety operations.
As part of the observance, officials are spotlighting long-time dispatcher Darrell Baker, who has served Cherokee County for 31 years.

Baker is recognized for his decades of experience, steady leadership, and professionalism in handling emergency calls and supporting first responders across the county. Officials noted his long-standing commitment as a key part of the county’s public safety system.
Outside of work, Baker enjoys spending time with his family and participating in outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing.
Cherokee County E911 and EMA officials expressed appreciation for Baker’s service and dedication, noting his continued commitment to the citizens of Cherokee County throughout his career.
