Cambron discussed recent expansions at Cherokee County Health and Rehab, including expansions to the memory care and rehabilitation services. She also highlighted the facility’s outpatient rehabilitation program, which offers transportation for individuals who may not otherwise have a way to travel to therapy appointments, ensuring more people have access to needed rehabilitation services.

The rehabilitation center is named in memory of the late Rev. Melvyn Salter, who ministered to many residents and families in the Centre community.

Cambron noted that the facility provides care for residents from across Cherokee County as well as other areas, with some individuals traveling from outside the region to receive services. She also referenced the story of a former resident who arrived needing extensive care but, after two years of rehabilitation and treatment, was able to leave the facility living independently again. The story was recently featured on the facility’s Facebook page.
