Collinsville’s Willingham earns 200th baseball win

FYFFE – Collinsville’s Ernie Willingham earned his 200th baseball win Thursday as the Panthers defeated area rival Fyffe 12-1 in five innings.

The top-ranked Panthers (20-2) blew the game open with an eight-run top of the fifth inning. Sylas Adams and Mason McAteer both went 2-for-4 with a home run apiece. Adams also tripled and drove in four runs. McAteer drove in three runs.

Brantley Daugherty was 3-for-3 with a run and a RBI. Gavin Lang was 2-for-2 with a pair of walks and three runs. Jeremiah Killian doubled and walked.

Jacob Niles walked and scored a run. Carson Clanton and Chase Godshall both scored a run.

McAteer earned the win on the mound. He tossed a one-hitter and gave up an earned run and a walk with six strikeouts.

Collinsville travels to North Sand Mountain on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
