Just two days after clinching the Class 3A, Area 13 baseball title, the Collinsville Panthers (19-2) climbed atop the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association baseball rankings. The latest poll was released early Thursday morning.
Not far behind the Panthers in Class 3A is Piedmont (19-6), which holds steady at No. 3. Other area baseball teams continuing to be nominated include Class 4A Cherokee County (12-11) and Class 1A Spring Garden (11-10).
In softball, the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats (15-11) moved up a spot to No. 6 this week. Other softball teams continuing to be nominated include Class 4A Cherokee County (11-10), Class 3A Collinsville (12-11), and Class 1A Gaylesville (6-6).
