Gadsden Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Person of Interest After Walmart Parking Lot Shooting

GADSDEN — The Gadsden Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest connected to a fight that escalated into a shooting Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of the East Gadsden Walmart.
According to Gadsden Police, the incident began when two groups met in the parking lot and a physical altercation broke out. During the confrontation, firearms were produced and multiple shots were fired.
Authorities say no injuries were immediately reported; however, several vehicles parked in the area were struck by gunfire during the incident.

Investigators have released photos of a person and a vehicle they say may be connected to the incident. The vehicle shown in the images is believed to have a drive-out tag from Brady Auto in Bessemer.

In a statement accompanying the photos, the Gadsden Police Department said the individual is considered a person of interest in the case.
“This is the person of interest in the incident at Walmart. We are asking the public to help us identify the individual,” the department said. “This individual created the isolated incident at Walmart this afternoon.”
Anyone with information that could help identify the person or vehicle is asked to contact the Gadsden Police Department at (256) 549-4578.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
