Spring Garden baseball evens record with win at Weaver

WEAVER – Spring Garden scored three runs in the top of the first inning and two more in the sixth to take a 5-2 baseball win at Weaver on Friday.

Joel Hunter led the Panthers (10-10) at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a triple and a run. Hayes Guthrie went 2-for-4 with a run. Brady Ruark was also 2-for-4 with a RBI.

Ben Baker, Zane Edwards, and Clayton Sadler each had a double. Baker and Edwards both scored a run and had a RBI. Sadler also walked and drove in a run.

Dawson Ellzey delivered a hit and drove in a run. Briley Murray finished with a hit. Shawn Carnes scored a run.

Sadler earned the win on the mound. He tossed five innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits with four walks and eight strikeouts. Baker threw two innings of two-hit ball with a walk and two strikeouts.

Spring Garden hosts Jacksonville Christian to begin an area series on Tuesday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
