Hill records 1,000th strikeout in Lady Warrior softball win at Spring Garden

SPRING GARDEN – Cherokee County High School senior pitcher Emma Hill recorded her 1,000th career strikeout Thursday in the Lady Warriors’ 8-4 softball win at Spring Garden.

Kaylee Lewis led the Lady Warriors (11-9) at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a run and a RBI. Sofie Dawson went 2-for-4 with two runs. Emma Eberhart was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.

Izzy Patterson posted a hit, a run, and two RBIs. Sydni Frost collected a hit, a walk, and a RBI. Anna Morris managed a hit and scored a run. Brooklynn Bruce walked and scored a run.

The Lady Warriors built a 7-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning before Spring Garden (5-9) attempted to rally. The Lady Panthers scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth and two more in the bottom of the seventh.

Both teams compete in the Gadsden Umpires Tournament at Rainsville on Friday and Saturday.
