Collinsville baseball routs Sylvania

COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville Panthers erupted for 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning, added five more in the second, and one in the third to take a 17-1 area baseball win over visiting Sylvania on Thursday.

Mason McAteer and Jeremiah Killian both homered. McAteer also doubled, scored three runs and had four RBIs. Killian also came away with a single, a walk, two runs, and three RBIs for the second-ranked Panthers (17-2).

Jacob Niles delivered three hits in the game, including a double, with a run and two RBIs. Gavin Lang added a pair of hits, including a double, with three runs and two RBIs. Brantley Daugherty also contributed a pair of hits, a pair of walks, a run, and three RBIs.

Sylas Adams doubled, walked twice, scored twice, and had a RBI. Colton Pettus doubled, walked, and scored a run.

Noah Johnson and Bronner Jones both delivered a hit, a run, and a RBI. Carson Clanton finished with a hit. Chase Godshall walked and scored twice.

McAteer earned the win after working three innings. He gave up an unearned run on three hits with five strikeouts. Daugherty tossed two innings and surrendered a hit with three strikeouts.

Collinsville hosts Plainview on Saturday at noon.
