Residential Fire Reported on County Road 71
One Treated for Smoke Inhalation

Centre — Emergency crews responded to a residential structure fire just prior to 9:30 p.m. Monday night in the 5900 block of County Road 71.

Fire departments from Centre, Mt. Weisner, and Ellisville arrived on scene to find the home heavily engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked quickly to bring the fire under control and prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby areas.

One occupant of the residence was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by Floyd-Atrium EMS personnel.
Additional assistance was provided by deputies with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, officers with the Centre Police Department, and crews from Cherokee Electric Cooperative.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
