Guntersville Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges Following ICAC Investigation

Guntersville- A Guntersville man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography following an investigation involving state and local law enforcement agencies.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began on March 22, 2026, after the department received information from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force regarding a report of suspected possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). The report was submitted through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
During the course of the investigation, authorities identified a suspect with assistance from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). Investigators later obtained a search warrant for an electronic device belonging to the suspect.
On Thursday, March 26, the device was seized and sent to the Marshall County District Attorney’s Office laboratory for forensic download and examination.
The following day, March 27, Investigator Franks secured an arrest warrant for Joseph Dale Kelley, 34, of Guntersville. Kelley was arrested at his residence and charged with five counts of possession of child pornography.

Kelley was transported to the Marshall County Jail without incident and booked on the charges. He is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation to the Marshall County District Attorney’s Office, the Guntersville Police Department, and ALEA for their assistance during the investigation.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
