RAINSVILLE – The Collinsville Lady Panthers split a pair of games on the second day of the Gadsden State Softball Tournament in Rainsville on Saturday. They held off North Jackson 4-3, but lost a slugfest with North Sand Mountain 14-12.
In the win over North Jackson, Brayleigh Smith went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run. Gabriella Whitmore was also 2-for-3 with a run for the Lady Panthers (7-8).
Lexii Burt doubled and had a RBI. Halle Peek was 1-for-2 with a run and a RBI. Aubrey Reeves went 1-for-3 with a RBI. Ella Coker was also 1-for-3. Maelee Barkley finished with a walk and a run.
Bella Wills earned the win. She worked five innings and gave up an earned run on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Barkley tossed an inning and gave up a hit with a strikeout.
In the loss to North Sand Mountain, Barkley was 3-for-4 at the plate with two doubles, two runs, and three RBIs. Peek went 3-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Reeves was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.
Carlee Davis contributed a hit and two runs. Preslye Uptain was 1-for-2 with a run. Burt was also 1-for-2 with a walk. Coker contributed a hit, a run, and a RBI. Smith was 1-for-3 with a run. Whitmore scored a run and had a RBI.
Barkley suffered the loss.
Collinsville is at Ider on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
