Dan Bankston from Barnsville, Ga. caught a $50 tagged Crappie while fishing in the Bay Springs Marina area on Saturday. He enjoyed a nice day of fishing and got paid $50 for his efforts.

This is part of the Weiss Lake Improvement Association’s annual Crappie Rodeo that continues through April 30th. There is one fish worth $10,000 that has been tagged and waiting to be caught. There are 55 One Thousand Dollar tagged fish, 470 $100 and 470 $50 fish. Anglers need to purchase a “Bounty Badge” at a participating merchant around the lake before going fishing. Then if they catch a tagged Crappie with a white 2026 tag in it, they can claim their prize.
Good Luck and Good Fishing on Weiss Lake.
