Cherokee County Public Library to Host “Senior Tech Connect” Classes for Older Adults

CENTRE — The Cherokee County Public Library is offering a series of technology classes designed specifically for older adults, aimed at building confidence and practical skills in today’s digital world.

The program, titled “Senior Tech Connect: Computer Basics for Older Adults,” will feature a combination of lectures and hands-on workshops throughout April at the library, located at 310 Mary Street in Centre.

The April workshop schedule includes:

  • Monday, April 6 (9:00–10:30 a.m.): Managing Privacy Settings on Android

  • Tuesday, April 7 (9:00–10:30 a.m.): Managing Privacy Settings on iPhone

  • Monday, April 13 (9:00–10:30 a.m.): Cloud Storage

In addition to the April sessions, the library will offer an expanded course titled “Smartphone Photography” running from late April through May. This five-week course will meet twice a week for two hours per session, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., beginning Monday, April 27, 2026.

According to program details, the photography course will cover the basics of using a smartphone camera, including how to take photos, where images are stored on devices, and how to manage and delete them. Classes will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays depending on the weekly schedule.

Library officials note that space for the program is limited and encourage early registration. Those interested in attending can contact the Cherokee County Public Library at 256-927-5838 for more information or to sign up.

The initiative reflects the library’s continued effort to provide accessible learning opportunities and help residents stay connected in an increasingly digital age.
