Mrs. Blanche Richerson Smith, age 93 of Cedar Bluff, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Cherokee County Health and Rehab. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Manning officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. A graveside service will immediately follow at Cherokee Memory Gardens, Centre, AL.
She leaves behind her sons, Chuck and Judy Smith of Auburn, GA; Eric and Becky Smith of Cedar Bluff; her beloved granddaughters, Amy and Chris Smith of Hokes Bluff, AL, Amber and Brandon Laughlin of New Whiteland, IN, and Autumn and Shelby Palubiak of Auburn, GA; her great grandchildren, Mason Smith, Hayden Smith, Brayden Smith, Tanner Laughlin, Corinna Smith, Juliana Smith, and Caroline Laughlin; brother-in-law, Joe Frank Rinehart; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mason Smith, Brayden Smith, Chris Smith, Tanner Laughlin, Brandon Laughlin, Joe Rinehart and John Rinehart.
Blanche was born in Floyd County, GA. She retired from Centre Manufacturing/ So Sew Manufacturing. She was a member of Fair Haven Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Maude Richerson; husband, Charles Smith; daughter, Karen Smith; brothers, P.J. Richerson and Claude Richerson; and sisters, Doris Smith, Mildred Wilson, and Elizabeth Elliott.
