Sand Rock scores four in the sixth, takes area softball win over Pleasant Valley

SAND ROCK – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 5-1 area softball win over Pleasant Valley on Tuesday.

Alyvia McMichen led the Lady Wildcats (5-2) at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a run and a RBI. Macy Martin went 2-for-4 with two runs. Molly Grace Lay and Taylyn Warren were also both 2-for-4. Lay drove in a run and Warren scored a run. Kinzlee Peek went 2-for-3.

Aubie Camp doubled, walked, and drove in a run. Emma Sipsy had a hit, a run, and a RBI. Madison Walker finished with a hit and a RBI.

Sipsy earned the win. She went the distance, allowing just one earned run on nine hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

Sand Rock opens the Cherokee County Tournament on Thursday against Gaylesville at 4 p.m. at Cherokee County High School.
