Cherokee County Hosts Jail Training Course at its Training Center

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office recently hosted a Jail Training Officer course at its Training Center.
The three-day course was led by Cherokee County personnel Sergeant Mike Farrell, with assistance from Lieutenant Jordan Kelley and Chief of Corrections Sierra Wilks.
Officers from several agencies attended the training to learn the responsibilities of a Jail Training Officer. The course focused on leadership, evaluation standards, and effective training methods designed to help officers properly train and mentor new detention personnel while maintaining high professional standards inside the detention center.
