Cedar Bluff Street Department Getting New Dump Truck

The Cedar Bluff Town Council meeting for March was moved from the second Monday to Thursday, March 5th.

During the meeting the Council approved the purchase of a single axle dump truck for the Street Department in the amount of $145,000. Mayor Warren told the Council this would be paid for with the revenue generated from the Town’s 4-cent gasoline tax and would not come out the Town’s General Fund. The Council also approved the surplus of the old garbage truck which will be sold.

The Council approved an Ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance, Approved an Ordinance dealing with the Nuisance Abatement Ordinance, and upon the request of the Planning Commission amended the Zoning ordinance to change annexed properties to C-2 for Commercial properties and RR for Residential Properties.

An Engineering Resolution was passed authorizing the Town to Contract with the Engineering Firm of Goodwin, Mills, and Cawood of Huntsville for the purpose of working on grant opportunities for the Town. The Town would not be charged for the service until grants are obtained then the fee would come from the Grant funds.

The next Cedar Bluff Town Council meeting is scheduled for April 13th with planning session at 5 and meeting at 6 in the Council Chambers.
