Lady Warriors go 3-2 in rain-shortened Hewitt-Trussville softball tournament

TRUSSVILLE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors reached the semifinals against Hazel Green in the Hewitt-Trussville softball tournament on Saturday, but were rained out in the fourth inning. The Lady Warriors finished the tournament going 3-2.

In bracket play on Saturday, the Lady Warriors (3-4) defeated Auburn 10-6 and Daphne 5-3 in eight innings.

In the win over Auburn, the Lady Warriors scored five runs in the bottom of the first and five more in the fourth for the final.

Kar’leigh Bowman went 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Emma Eberhart was also 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs.

Izzy Patterson and Brooklynn Bruce both had a hit, a walk, and a RBI. Patterson also scored twice. Kaylee Lewis added a hit, a run, and a RBI. Bristol Bass finished with a hit, a walk, and two runs.

In the win over Daphne, the Lady Warriors scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the win.

Patterson and Eberhart were both 2-for-4 at the plate. Patterson also scored a run and had a RBI. Eberhart drove in a pair of runs.

Bruce collected a hit, a walk, and two runs. Lewis walked, scored a run, and had a RBI. Sofie Dawson scored a run and had a RBI. Emma Hill finished with a hit and a walk.
