Sand Rock softball splits with Ranburne, Munford

LINCOLN – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats split a pair of softball games in the Lincoln tournament at the Lincoln Sports Complex on Friday. They defeated Ranburne 18-4 then fell to Munford 7-2.

In the win over Ranburne, Macy Martin went 4-for-4 at the plate with a walk, three runs and two RBIs. Molly Grace Lay was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs, and six RBIs. Emma Sipsy went 2-for-5 with three runs. Ashlyn McMichen was 2-for-3 with two runs and a RBI.

Aubie Camp had a hit, a run, and two RBIs. Raven Todd and Kinzlee Peek both had a hit and two runs. Peek also drove in a run.

Alyvia McMichen managed a walk, a run, and a RBI. Madison Walker scored twice.

Martin earned the win after working three innings. She allowed no runs, a hit, two walks, and had five strikeouts.

Sipsy worked two innings of two-hit ball with three strikeouts.

In the loss to Munford, Camp and Sipsy both had a hit and scored a run. Todd had a hit and drove in a run. Martin finished with a hit.

Janey Crane suffered the loss. She allowed four earned runs on three hits with three walks and no strikeouts.

Sand Rock picks up tournament play on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. against Oak Grove.
