Five Arrested After Vehicles Struck by Objects in Southside

Southside-Southside police arrested five individuals Friday night after multiple vehicles were struck by objects along Pilgrim’s Rest Road.
According to the Southside Police Department, officers responded around 8:30 p.m. on March 6, 2026, to reports of vehicles being hit with water bottles in the area of Pilgrim’s Rest Road. While officers were on scene, dispatch received another call from a victim who reported their vehicle had been struck by an object and that they were following the suspected vehicle.
Officers responded to the area and conducted a traffic stop in the 3900 block of Highway 77. During the stop, five individuals were detained and later identified as the suspects involved in the incidents.
Police identified the individuals as Colten Shields, 18; Samuel Hill, 19; Jaden Eason, 18; James White, 20; and Raeden Sumner, 19.
Each of the five was charged with three counts of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree and three counts of Reckless Endangerment. All were transported to the Etowah County Jail.
Investigators believe the incident may be connected to other similar cases reported recently in the Southside area, and additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
