COLLINSVILLE – Collinsville’s Mason McAteer and Jeremiah Killian combined for a two-hit shutout of Sand Rock on Monday in a 5-0 baseball decision.
McAteer earned the win for the Panthers (4-1) after tossing a one-hitter through through five innings. Killian worked two innings and surrendered just one hit with no walks and three strikeouts.
Colton Pettus provided a double and two RBIs at the plate for the Panthers. Gavin Lang also doubled and scored two runs. Killian collected a hit and two RBIs. Noah Johnson drove in a run. Jacob Niles contributed a hit and a walk. Sylas Adams walked and scored a run. McAteer also scored a run.
Brycen Murphy and Morgan Tucker had the lone hits for Sand Rock (1-6). Tucker also drew a walk.
Nick Clanton suffered the loss. He gave up three earned runs on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
Sand Rock is at Geraldine on Tuesday while Collinsville hosts North Sand Mountain.
