While on routine patrol on the East Broad Campus, Officer Mark Bullock noticed a glow near Paden Avenue. Responding immediately, he discovered a residence on Fuller Street fully engulfed in flames. The intense heat from the fire threatened two nearby homes on Ralls Avenue, with siding already beginning to melt.

Officer Bullock contacted the Gadsden Fire Department and simultaneously assisted neighbors in evacuating safely. Thanks to his prompt response, no one was injured, and additional damage to surrounding properties was minimized.
Chief Jay Freeman of Gadsden State Police and Public Safety praised Officer Bullock for his dedication to public safety, highlighting the department’s commitment to strong partnerships and rapid response. The department also commended the Gadsden Fire Department for their swift and effective work in containing the blaze.
“Strong partnerships. Quick response. Safer communities,” Freeman said, emphasizing the collaborative efforts that kept the community safe.
