Anniston Police Launch “Wanted Wednesday” Initiative to Address Outstanding Warrants

ANNISTON — The Anniston Police Department has announced the launch of a new public outreach effort called “Wanted Wednesday,” aimed at enlisting community assistance in locating individuals with outstanding warrants.

Beginning this week, the department will highlight one individual each Wednesday who has an active warrant. Officials emphasized that the campaign is not intended to signal a manhunt or an active emergency, but rather to strengthen cooperation between law enforcement and residents in resolving open cases.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes a featured individual not to approach them. Instead, residents are encouraged to contact the department using the appropriate channels:

  • Emergencies: 911

  • Non-emergencies: 256-238-1800

  • Warrants Division: 256-240-4018

Community members may also submit tips anonymously through the department’s online reporting system at:

Officials say public participation can play a key role in safely clearing outstanding warrants and maintaining community safety.
