The invocation was led by Commissioner Jones.

The second floor has been completed and work is now focused on the first floor. Landscaping has begun, and the columns have been installed, with finishing touches still needed. Steele also thanked the county Highway Department for work on both the courthouse and the new animal shelter.

In old business, the commission tabled an appointment to the District 3 Industrial Development Authority until a nominee is presented.

In new business, Diana Adrian was appointed to the Cherokee County Library Board for a four-year term ending in February 2030. Commissioners also declared a 2020 Sheriff’s Office Tahoe surplus to be sold at public auction and approved the Young Family Cemetery.
