Anniston Police Make Drug Trafficking Arrest After Traffic Stop

ANNISTON — Anniston Police officers arrested a man on drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop in the Wellborn community late Tuesday night.

According to the Anniston Police Department, patrol officers conducted the stop and developed probable cause to search the vehicle and its driver. During the search, officers seized a trafficking-level quantity of methamphetamine, along with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The male driver was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement.

Police officials praised the officers involved for their efforts, noting that removing illegal drugs from the streets remains a top priority for the department.

The investigation is ongoing.
