Cherokee County Board of Education to Meet February 9th

Centre-The Cherokee County Board of Education will hold its regular board meeting on Monday, February 9, at 4 p.m. at the Central Office, located at 200 Armory Road in Centre.
The meeting will begin with a call to order, followed by an opening prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, welcome, and public comments. Board members will then conduct roll call and confirm proper procedures for meeting notification before moving to adopt the agenda.
During the meeting, the board is scheduled to consider approval of the January 12, 2026 meeting minutes and FY26 Budget Amendment 1. Members will also consider adopting a proclamation declaring February 2026 as Career and Technical Education Month.
Several items related to facilities and operations are on the agenda, including a Cenergistic Energy Program update, approval of a Cenergistic agreement, and an amended energy savings budget for Cedar Bluff School. The board will also review a revised wellness policy and consider approval of a revised 2026–2027 academic calendar.
Additional action items include consideration of a proposal from Performance Based Education Company, Inc. for Cherokee County High School, as well as approvals for travel, personnel actions, and professional development. Board members will also review current job postings and hear the superintendent’s update before addressing any other business and adjourning.
