Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Central Alabama Through Thursday Morning

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for all of Central Alabama, warning motorists of hazardous travel conditions through Thursday morning.
According to the NWS, the advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. CST Thursday. Visibility is expected to be reduced to one-quarter mile or less in areas of dense fog, particularly during the overnight and early morning hours.
Forecasters caution that the significantly reduced visibility could make driving conditions dangerous. Motorists are urged to use caution, slow their speed, and allow for additional stopping distance while traveling.
The National Weather Service also advises drivers to use headlights and remain alert for sudden changes in visibility while on the road. Conditions are expected to gradually improve later Thursday morning as the fog dissipates.
