Marshall County Woman Arrested on Federal Immigration Charges

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. -Arely Guzman, a resident of Albertville, is facing multiple charges after allegedly working to transport undocumented immigrants into the U.S.

DeKalb County deputies arrested Guzman last week after she reportedly posted the personal information of an immigration agent. A federal complaint indicates she was identified as someone who had collaborated with an incarcerated inmate to smuggle undocumented immigrants.

Authorities say Guzman holds a position of public trust. Earlier this year, she was also arrested on assault and weapons charges.

Guzman is scheduled to appear in federal court on December 31.
