Early Morning Structure Fire Reported on North 9th Street in Gadsden

Gadsden, Ala. — The Gadsden Fire Department responded to an early morning structure fire on North 9th Street on Monday, December 22, according to department officials.

Fire crews were dispatched during the early morning hours, with Engine 1 arriving first on scene and reporting the structure was approximately 60 percent involved. Quint 4 established a water supply to Engine 1 as firefighting operations began.

Firefighters from Engine 7 and Quint 4 conducted primary and secondary searches of the structure to ensure no occupants were inside. Rescue 1 performed salvage and overhaul operations, while Engine 6 was assigned as the rapid intervention team.

Battalion 1 and Fire Marshal 2 were also on scene assisting with command and investigation.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately available.
