Pedestrian Killed in Late-Night Interstate 20 Crash Near Pell City

St. Clair County, Ala. A Pell City man was killed late Monday night after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 20 in St. Clair County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

ALEA said the single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian occurred at approximately 10:05 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, near the 154-mile marker on Interstate 20, about one mile east of Pell City.

The pedestrian was identified as Jeremy P. King, 46, of Pell City. Troopers said King was in the roadway at the time of the crash when he was struck by a 2022 Volvo VNL tractor-trailer driven by Charles D. McCleney, 46, of Mount Olive. King was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional details were released. Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the crash.
