Georgia Man Killed in Late-Night Crash on U.S. 278

Calhoun County-A Georgia man was killed late Thursday night in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 278 in Calhoun County, according to a press release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
The crash occurred at approximately 10:55 p.m. on Nov. 20. Troopers say Jamyrian L. Darden, 23, of Aragon, Georgia, was driving a 2017 Peterbilt tractor-trailer when the vehicle left the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned. Darden sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The wreck took place near the 153-mile marker, about three miles west of Piedmont.
ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further information was immediately available.
