Guntersville Woman Killed, Another Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 431

Guntersville-A Guntersville woman is dead, and another driver is injured following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Guntersville.
Guntersville Police Traffic Homicide Unit Lieutenant Josh Case said officers responded to the scene at 7:53 a.m. on U.S. Highway 431 at the intersection of Buck Island Drive. The collision involved a 2024 Mazda CX-50 driven by 69-year-old Alexis Lauren Taylor-Boll of Guntersville and a 2017 Jeep Wrangler driven by 29-year-old Chelsy Morgan Barnes of Dawson.
According to investigators, Barnes was traveling north on U.S. 431 when Taylor-Boll attempted to enter the highway and turn south. Taylor-Boll was pronounced dead at the scene. Barnes was transported to Huntsville Hospital, where she remains in stable condition.
Responding agencies included the Guntersville Fire Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall Medical Service Ambulance, and the Marshall County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Guntersville Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit.
