Attalla to Begin Installation of New Water Meters Across City

Residents may notice unfamiliar people in neighborhoods

Attalla, Ala. — Residents of Attalla may notice workers in their neighborhoods over the coming weeks as the city begins installing new radio-read water meters, the Attalla Police Department announced.

The installation, scheduled to start on November 10, 2025, is expected to continue through March or April 2026. Contractors from HST, many of whom are visiting from Florida, will be placing door hangers to notify residents of upcoming work and installing the new meters throughout the Attalla Water Service area.

Officials say residents may see workers at their homes wearing blue HST company shirts. The crews are fully authorized to be on site, and the public is encouraged to be patient and cooperative during the process.

Additional information about the new radio-read meters will be provided by city officials at a later date. The Attalla Police Department thanked residents for their understanding and support as the project moves forward.
