Pickle Ball Is Coming To Leesburg

The Leesburg Town Council approved a Pickle Ball court consisting of 4 courts with 2 covered and 2 open. The total investment is $380,000 with the Town paying half and the other half covered by a grant.

The Council also approved a resolution authorizing Ladd Environmental to proceed with a grant application for the Town for the Pickle Ball project.

Replacement bulbs for the Christmas Pole decorations were approved in the amount of $694.

Mayor Pierce informed the Council the Town’s Trunk or Treat event will be Friday, October 31st from 5 until 8 pm at the Leesburg Landing with hot dogs being served to participants.

Christmas in the Park will be on Saturday, December 6th from 2 until 6 pm.

Pierce told the Council the sewer project is still on track to begin on December 1st.

A citizen from Taylor’s Ridge asked the council about repairing the drains in their community. Mayor Pierce told him they were already working to get those repairs made and the drains would be cleaned this week. The man also complained about a building contractor dumping trash on vacant lots in the community. He was advised the owners of the lots involved would need to file a complaint with the Town for action to be taken.

The next meeting of the Town Council will be an organizational meeting at the FEMA Building at 4 pm with the Town Council meeting to follow.
