Commissioner Rick Pate Honors Alabama National Fair for Their “America250” Celebration
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama is proud to play a leading role in the America250: A Call for the Great American State Fair. Today, Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries Rick Pate issued an individual proclamation for the Alabama National Fair, emphasizing its role in the nationwide celebration.
Commissioner Pate was among the first state agricultural leaders in the country to issue a proclamation recognizing the historic 250th celebration.
“I recognize the Alabama National Fair’s longstanding commitment to honor agriculture, showcase livestock and celebrate the traditions that shaped our nation,” said Commissioner Pate. “I look forward to the Alabama National Fair commemorating the United States with the America250 theme and extend my best wishes for an outstanding event!”
Earlier this summer, President Donald Trump and USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins encouraged agriculture commissioners nationwide to involve their state fairs in the America250 celebration. Commissioner Pate then issued a statewide proclamation inviting all Alabama fairs to participate in this historic event. This early action helped launch the national initiative and ensured that fairs across Alabama would highlight the state’s agricultural heritage and patriotic spirit throughout the 2025 fair season.
America250 is a national initiative to honor the past, celebrate the present and inspire the future as we prepare to observe the 250th anniversary of American Independence on July 4, 2026. The celebration will continue throughout 2025, inviting families across Alabama and the nation to come together in a spirit of unity, patriotism and appreciation for America’s agricultural heritage.
