Mr. Phillip Selman “Phil” Jordan

Phillip Selman “Phil” Jordan, 68, of Centre, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 28, 2025.

He is survived by his wife Cathy Higgins Jordan, sister, Becky (Randall) McMichen of Centre, brother, Jamie (Kelly) Jordan of Centre, niece, Mary (Matt) Ingram of Cullman, nephew, Jesse Jordan of Thomasville, AL, great niece, Kate Ingram, and cousin, Freida (Nick) McMichen.

Phil was a native of the Bomar community of Cherokee County, the son of the late Tom Brock and Marianne (Selman) Jordan. He spent his early years working on the family farm and at J.T. Jordan and Son Gin and later became a co-owner of Jordan Gin Company. He was a former Chairman for the Cotton Advisory Committee for Alabama Farm Bureau and former Northern Alabama State Chairman for Ducks Unlimited. He was of the Baptist faith.

Physical fitness and body building were two of his life-long priorities, having formerly trained under Frank Zane in Palm Springs, California. He was an avid outdoorsman and University of Alabama football fan.

After an automobile accident slowed his mobility, he found new ways to serve others. He spent countless hours visiting those in the nursing home and the homebound. He always made his family his first priority. In Phil’s memory, the family asks that you tell your loved ones how proud you are of them.

Visitation will be held at Perry Funeral Home on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memory Gardens with Bro. Eddie Nation and Freddy Reynolds officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1942), the Cherokee County Child Advocacy Center (P.O. Box 587, Centre, AL 35960), or the Neal Hill Cemetery Fund (660 Big Nose Drive, Centre, AL, 35960).
