Edna Earle Berry, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, in Gadsden, Alabama, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on May 16, 1939, in Rome, Georgia, daughter of the late William Daniel Lumpkin and Clara Mae Bigham Lumpkin.
Edna devoted many years of her professional life to Walmart, retiring as a Customer Service Manager where she was known for her steadfast dedication and personable approach to customers. Her commitment to service reflected her compassionate nature, which endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Always embracing life with warmth and enthusiasm, she loved reading, thrift shopping, and amassing a remarkable collection of over 2500 salt and pepper sets. Her lively personality and genuine love for her family created a legacy filled with cherished moments and delightful stories that will resonate for generations to come.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Debbie Wilson (Harold Quinn) of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, and Kathy Larsen (Mark) of Counce, TN; brothers, Jim Lumpkin of Villa Rica, GA, and Bill Lumpkin of Armuchee, GA; grandchildren: Josh Headrick (Jessica) of Palm Coast, Florida, Brandi Law (Justin) of New York, Nichole Larsen of Counce, TN, as well as five step-grandchildren. Additionally, she was a proud grandmother to seven great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren, all of whom illuminated her life with joy and love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, James Howard Bray and Robert “Bob” Carlton Berry, and her brothers, Jack and David Lumpkin.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, 2549 Shorter Avenue, Rome with Brandon Lumpkin officiating. The family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go to the cemetery in a procession. If planning to join the procession, please meet at the Funeral Home no later that 12:15 PM on Friday. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Salmon Funeral Home.
