Cedar Bluff Police Department Rebuilding Staff After Shortage

Department hires 4 new officers

Cedar Bluff-The Cedar Bluff Police Department is working to rebuild its force following a recent shortage that left Chief Jeremy Stepps as the department’s only officer.

Chief Stepps told WEIS Radio this week that the department has hired four additional officers, and the process of bringing them on board is nearly complete. He said he expects all four officers to be fully on duty within the next two weeks.

The staffing shortage came after several officers resigned or transferred to other departments. The new hires will help restore normal operations for the department and better serve the community.

WEIS Radio will continue to follow the story and provide any updates that become available.
