82-Year-Old Woman Injured in Whorton Accident

WHORTON – An accident in the Whorton community of Cherokee County on Wednesday afternoon left an 82-year-old woman injured.

The crash was reported around 3:10 p.m. when the pickup truck she was driving left the road near County Road 16 and struck a tree on private property.

Emergency responders from McCords Crossroads Fire Department and Atrium Floyd EMS were dispatched to the scene. Alabama State Troopers were initially called, but later canceled once it was determined the accident occurred on private property.

The woman was treated at the scene before being transported by Atrium Floyd EMS to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
