Jim Bouchillon, age 80 of Centre, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gloria Bouchillon; son, Brian (Heather)
Bouchillon; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Bouchillon; sister, Jane Stansell; grandchildren
Luke Bouchillon, Hope Bouchillon, Sadie Bouchillon, Avery Bouchillon and Gabby
Bouchillon.
He was preceded in death by his son, Adrian Bouchillon.
Jim was the son of the late Theodore and Evelyn Bouchillon.
He was a fun-loving husband, father, and a proud grandfather.
Jim had a passion for the outdoors and spent much of his time hunting, fishing and
farming. He shared this love of land and wildlife with his sons and grandchildren,
creating lifelong memories they will cherish.
Jim was an elite athlete at Cedar Bluff High School and earned a football scholarship to
Auburn University in 1963. He is recognized by Auburn Athletics as likely having started
at more positions than anyone in Auburn’s history; playing linebacker, wingback and
defensive end.
Jim was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County, growing up as a member of First United
Methodist Church of Cedar Bluff. He owned Bouchillon Chevrolet in Centre for 20 years
before becoming a real estate appraiser and gas and mineral rights salesman.
Jim enjoyed the company of his friends, attentive and interested in the lives of others.
He could also be a reserved, no-nonsense man of few words, yet he always made sure
those around him knew they were loved. He said ‘I love you’ often, not just in words but
in the way he lived—always ready to help, always providing, always present. His
strength, honesty, and love for his family will be deeply missed and forever
remembered.
Services will be held at Perry Funeral Home in Centre, AL on Sunday September 14,
with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. The memorial service will begin at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Centre Baptist Church or charity of your
choice.
Perry Funeral Home is in charge of arangements.
