CEDAR BLUFF – Kadien Tracy accounted for 114 yards on 11 carries with three touchdowns. Kuper Bradley completed 12-of-14 pass attempts for 211 yards and three scores as Cedar Bluff opened Class 2A, Region 7 football play Friday night with a 42-20 victory over Gaston.
Tracy put the Tigers (2-1, 1-0) in front in the first quarter with a 3-yard touchdown rush, set up by his own 45-yard run. Bryant Gravley’s extra point made it 7-0.
Bradley accounted for Cedar Bluff’s next score on an 18-yard touchdown pass to Jonas Brown for a 14-0 Tiger lead.
The Bulldogs (1-1, 0-1) got on the scoreboard on Noah Cohen’s 8-yard touchdown run. Cohen added the 2-point conversion to trim Cedar Bluff’s lead to 14-8 at the end of the first quarter.
Tracy tacked on his second touchdown of the game in the second quarter on a 3-yard run. Gravley’s point after made it a 21-8 Tiger lead.
A Bradley-to-Brown 28-yard touchdown connection gave Cedar Bluff a 28-8 advantage.
Gaston scored again before halftime on Cohen’s 3-yard touchdown run. The 2-point try was unsuccessful, keeping the score at 28-14.
Bradley accounted for the only score in the third quarter on a 60-yard touchdown pass to Dylan McDaniel off a scramble. Gravley’s point after pushed Cedar Bluff’s lead to 35-14.
McDaniel led Cedar Bluff’s receivers with five catches for 133 yards and a touchdown.
Following a Jamison Miller interception in the fourth quarter, Tracy put the game away on a 10-yard touchdown run.
Gaston scored late on Tavis Brown’s 30-yard touchdown run. The try for two was no good.
Jeremiah and Jamison Miller both had 10 tackles apiece to lead the Tiger defense. Jamison Miller and Brown both had an interception. Brown also caught five passes for 50 yards and a score.
Cedar Bluff travels to North Sand Mountain next Friday.
