CEDAR BLUFF – The Cedar Bluff Tigers ended a three-game football skid to Valley Head on Friday by earning a 35-19 victory.
Quarterback Kuper Bradley completed 9-of-12 pass attempts for 184 and three touchdown passes – all to Dylan McDaniel – to lead the Tigers to the win. Two of those touchdown throws came in the first half – a 32-yard connection in the first quarter and from 16 yards in the second. Bradley also connected with Zach Jones on a 2-point conversion on the second touchdown.
In between, Valley Head’s Cayson McElrath returned a kickoff 95 yards for a score. Cedar Bluff led at halftime 14-7.
Valley Head opened the third-quarter scoring with a touchdown run, but missed the extra point to keep Cedar Bluff in front 14-13.
Cedar Bluff extended its lead later in the quarter to 21-13 on Jamison Miller’s 30-yard touchdown run. Bryant Gravley connected on the extra point.
Miller added an interception in the fourth quarter.
Bradley found McDaniel for a third score later in the fourth. This one went for 85 yards. Following Gravley’s extra point, Cedar Bluff had built a 28-13 lead.
McDaniel finished with three catches for 134 yards.
Valley Head pulled within nine at 28-19 on a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth, but Kadien Tracy put the game away with his 45-yard touchdown run up the middle. Gravley’s PAT provided the final.
Tracy finished with 146 yards on 18 carries with a score.
Hayden Tucker led Cedar Bluff’s defense with seven tackles, including two for loss. Dallas Storey added six tackles.
Cedar Bluff travels to Collinsville on Thursday.
