Kristi Reed Announces Candidacy for Cave Spring City Council, Post 3

CAVE SPRING, GA – August 20, 2025 — Kristi Reed has officially announced her candidacy for
Cave Spring City Council, Post 3. Reed’s ties to Cave Spring span generations, and she is
committed to preserving the town’s historic charm while supporting its future growth.
Reed brings extensive professional experience in communications, marketing, and leadership,
combined with a practical, data-driven approach to problem-solving. Throughout her career, she
has developed the skills to promote local businesses, highlight the town’s heritage, and ensure
clear, transparent communication with residents.
“As someone who has deep family roots here, I want to give back to a community that means so
much to me,” said Reed. “My vision is a Cave Spring that celebrates its history, supports local
businesses, and keeps our community safe, welcoming, and strong for generations to come.”
Reed has identified four key priorities in her campaign:
● Preserve Our History – Protect and promote Cave Spring’s historic character as an
asset for residents, visitors, and future generations.
● Support Local Businesses – Encourage growth in shops, restaurants, and tourism to
strengthen the local economy.
● Maintain Safe, Welcoming Spaces – Ensure the park, cave, and community areas
remain inviting and well cared for.
● Communicate Clearly – Provide timely, accurate updates to keep residents informed
and engaged.
In addition to her professional work, Reed is a member of the Cave Spring Historical Society
and is passionate about historic preservation as a foundation for economic development and
community pride.
Reed and her husband, Craig—a Rome native—have been married for 36 years and are the
proud parents of two children, Alex Reed and Lisa Reed Fassino.
“I’m running because I believe in Cave Spring’s future,” Reed said. “Together, we can honor our
past while creating opportunities that make this a place where families, businesses, and visitors
continue to feel at home.”
