Asbury Student Arrested for Classroom Threat
Marshall County– A 13-year-old student at Asbury High School was arrested Tuesday after allegedly making a threat inside a classroom, according to officials with Marshall County Schools.
School authorities say the student was immediately detained by school security before being taken into custody. Marshall County Sheriff Phil Sims confirmed that the student did not have a weapon at the time of the incident.
Following the arrest, the student was referred to juvenile authorities and will not be returning to Asbury High School.
“Our priority is the safety of our students and staff,” a spokesperson for Marshall County Schools stated. “We take all threats seriously and act quickly to ensure a secure learning environment.”
Sheriff Sims praised the swift response of the school resource officers, noting that their prompt action helped maintain safety on campus.
