A Short But Productive Meeting
The City Council Meeting lasted only 5 minutes but was productive. The Council approved a resolution approving election officials for the upcoming municipal election on August 26th. The Council voted to waive the sanction for the Colby Slayton Memorial Scholarship softball tournament to be held on August 30th. The Street Department Supervisor, Bobby Paul, informed the Council 16 new dumpsters were needed at a cost of $12,300 with the Council approving the expenditure. Advertising for a Public Hearing for the purpose of Rezoning property on Northwood Drive for the proposed housing development was approved. The property is now zoned R-1 and needs to be changed to R-2. The owner of the property is Land Source Solutions, LLC. The Council approved the platinum sponsorship for the Marching Warriors at a cost of $2000.
The next meeting of the Centre City Council is August 12th at 5 pm in the Council Chambers.
