A Busy June for Piedmont Police

During the City Council Meeting Tuesday evening, Police Chief Nathan Johnson gave the Council a report about the Department’s activity for June that included 35 arrests with 38 misdemeanor charges and 4 felony charges. Officers conducted 591 contacts with the public resulting in 21 traffic citations issued, and worked 7 traffic accidents.

Police were dispatched on 346 calls for service with 76 resulting in a report being filed. Officers conducted 313 extra patrols and district checks with a total of 8148 miles patrolled.

The dispatch office received 1727 calls, dispatched 401 Rescue Calls, 81 Piedmont Fire Calls, 13 after hour utility calls. The City Court collected $16,758 with the City retaining $6155.

In the Nuisance and Abatement Department, there were 36 total cases, 15 were for yards, 15 new cases, 15 completed cases, 8 old cases worked on, had 4 court appearances, made 2 verbal contacts, with 3 contacts for building permits.
