Centre Fire Department Has Busy 2nd Quarter

Centre Fire Marshall, Robert Pace, informed the Mayor and City Council about the busy 2nd quarter with the Department responding to 211 calls. Of those, calls, 16 were fire calls of which 7 were structure fires. They responded to 6 hazardous situations, 21 service calls, answered 24 false alarms, responded to 2 weather related calls, 2 special incidents, and 140 medical calls to assist EMS. Pace told the Council, 66 percent of their response calls were Medical Assists.

Response time per call averaged 6 minutes and 7 seconds during the quarter.

The Department continued with regular training and assisted with Community events including the Rodeo, Senior Slip n’ Slide at the First Baptist, Public Safety Discussions at Cherokee County and Sand Rock High Schools, Cooked and served hot dogs during the Juneteenth Event at the Park.
